John, I care. I’m interested in technology and finding out which operating system this is means I can actually try it out. No need to dismiss information as pointless when it clearly has a point. Some people actually enjoy learning, in addition to relaxing.

OS stands for operating system. This is the software that allows you to interact with your computer, play games, watch videos, type word documents etc.
Ubuntu is basically a version of Linux designed by a group of programmers and designers. Linux is an OS in itself. Linux..Windows..Mac…they are their own OS’s basically.
The unity interface I’m not so familiar with. I’m definitely oversimplifying and I might be completely wrong..but I think Unity is basically an addition to their graphical user interface (called Gnome..it’s basically what makes your computer display pictures videos and have a mouse pointer and all that good stuff..without a GUI like Gnome you would be stuck typing commands into a fully text window that would cover your entire screen). Anyway I think unity is basically an addition to their GUI that gives you a better organizational structure. You have vertical and horizontal menu bars, etc.
